Michael Trevino is a higher education consultant with over 20 years experience as a dean or director of admissions at the undergraduate, graduate, and professional school levels. He has extensive knowledge across the spectrum of higher education pathways from community colleges to the nation’s most selective colleges and universities. Michael served as the Director of Undergraduate Admissions for the University of California system and as a faculty member at the Harvard Summer Institute for College Admissions. He also led admissions functions at the University of California College of the Law (formerly Hastings), UCSF, UC Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy, Harvard University Graduate School of Education, Boston University School of Law, and the University of Washington. Michael worked on developing the community college selection criteria for Cal Law Pathways, and has chaired the community college selection committee since its founding.
Michael was a first-generation college student and a community college transfer from Gavilan College. He earned his A.B. in social science and history from UC Berkeley, an M.Ed. in higher education leadership & policy studies, a J.D. from the University of Washington, and he is a graduate of the Harvard Administrative Fellows Program.
